The 2021 UK Ultimate National Championships
This August I had the privilege of documenting the championship weekend of the UK’s National Ultimate Frisbee League. A two day tournament held in Nottingham’s University Campus Sports grounds where the UK’s qualifying teams compete in the Opens, Mixed and Women’s divisions; where the top teams will qualify for next year’s world club championships in Ohio, USA.
To give away the ending, the Opens defending champions Clapham Ultimate converted the twentieth consecutive national title, following up with a win at this year’s European Championships over defending Champions CUSB of Italy. The Mixed Champions SMOG of England defended their title in a close fought battle against London based Deep Space to take their spot in next year’s WUCC, and the women’s defending champions Bristol narrowly defeated London’s Iceni to take this year National Title.
A lot is still in the works for next year, and many athletes are already working towards levelling up this off season, so here’s a collection of my favourite images from the weekend.
